2 Days and 7 Hours to go .. EEEEEEKKKKKK

Hi Everyone!
Don't know how many of you actually read this right now but meh who cares I enjoy talking to myself loool....
Well a lot has happened since I posted my last blog, from the 12th - 16th July I went back to Coll for training, and to say that training was eventful is a huge understatement. It was jam packed with lecture after lecture, lesson after lesson, discussion after discussion, group work after group work all to prepare us for our gap years. At my training we were joined by all the Peru girls, the 3 Bolivians (who flew out on the 28th July) and the massive group of people going china. Everyone i met was amazinggggg, the Peru girls are a lot of fun and I can tell there's a lot of good times ahead.
However at one point of training I think after around 3 days, me n my partner rachel got told BAD news.. our project fell through and . pulled out apparently due to having too many volunteers. So this left me and rachel in a predicament, at that point we had NO PROJECT.. and so project trust had started to look for a new project to send us to. At the beginning we were told the likely hood of finding another project in not only peru but south america in general is practically ZERO and they suggested Malawi. At first after i heard about the projects in Malawi i was actually quite excited, the projects sounded really good. However after a nights sleep i started having doubts, would i be able to spend a year there? In general Africa and travelling africa especially the surrounding countries of Malawi didn't interest me and after seeing pictures of Malawi whilst it looked beautiful it just didnt seem somewhere i could spend a year and so I voiced my opinions to the directors of Project Trust. With that they just said we're going to have to wait and see and 2 days later me and Rachel were given the best news ever that they have found us a project in PERU WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

So I guess you'll be wanting some info on my new project right? Well this time its just outside Cusco, near one of the 7 wonders of the world - Machu Pichu! The orphanage is home to 12 street kids, all boys from the ages 5-20 and all of whom have a bad background with lives that you wouldnt wish upon any young child. Mine and Rachels role in the orphanage is to help with basic care, the running of the orphanage, team building, playing sports, teaching english just everything to enhance their lives and put them on the right path.

Cusco is one of the biggest cities in Peru and is approximatley 3350 meters above sea level. So I'll be feeling like im high for the first couple of weeks as i get used to the altitude and stuff.

So What else has been going on in the life of tanya? Well on the 19th August I recieved my A-Level results... They werent great to say the least and meant I didn't get into my universities. However after speaking to a couple of universitys I managed to get into Essex. I was ecstatic as I was worried I'd have nothing to come back to when I came home from Peru. Yet this feeling didnt last long as I was only told that they wouldn't allow me to defer my entry till 2011. So yep right at this moment in time I have no university to go to. It just shows how much I've put on the line to go to Peru but as I always say "it is what it is, theirs no point crying about it". Whatever the future holds for me I'm sure will be great. I just have to think about what are my options for the future and what I actually want to do with my life. Enough about this stuff though, let's get back to what else has been happening in the life of Tanya.

On August 22nd I had my leavers BBQ, which was an EXTREMELY drunken night for every1 (minus the non drinkers & Drivers). I had everyone I wanted under one roof and it as so nice seeing everyone. I think it was at the BBQ when it truly kicked in that I was going as I had to say goodbye to my nan, auntie uncle and my little cousins. I can put my hand on my heart and say prior to this day I HAVE NOT shed a tear about going and those who know me know just how hard this is loool. I also had to say goodbye to alot of my friends :( which was still emotional but i'd already shed enough tears for one night LOL. But yh overall this was an IMMENSE night and morning.

On the Tuesday 24th, I was readily making my way to see Sister Act with my little sister and was meeting my auntie and uncle down there. So we went off to a restaurant picadilly circus for some drinks readily waiting for my auntie and uncle but they were taking AGES!!!! After me and lisa had our drinks, Lisa recieved a call from my uncle saying that we were at the wrong resteraunt and it was the one in shaftsbury avenue we was meant to go to. ARGH so long man i was incredibly hungry as well. So off we went, we went to the restaurant and got taken downstairs to be seated with my auntie and uncle. Only when i went downstairs my auntie and uncle weren't there and I was met with a room of screaming people with party poppers saying "SUPRISE", I actually kind of shit myself to be honest. I was in complete shock and didn't know what to say for a while. In this room was all my closest friends who all came out to suprise me one last (and first) time. I found out it was all organised by my besttttttttttttt friend Wendy (frankz), as we would say shes MY DARG!! Wendy put ALOT of work into this and it meant so much. I really wasnt expecting this at all and it showed what great friends I have.

So now its Wednesday morning and Im having my last 2 full days in england. I don't actually know how I'm feeling right now if im honest. Im not an emotional person as it is so It still hasn't completely hit me that I'm leaving yet. I try not to think about it which is easier said then done if Im honest. My things are half packed, I still need to iron a couple of things but hey thats not gonna take too long. I seriously need to get all that done today so that I can have a stress free last day. We fly out on Friday morning from heathrow airport, which is good for me because its around an hours drive from my house so not too bad and also my dad works in immigration there :).

I prefer letters and presents haha. I'd say don't forget me but that's gonna be hard for all of you as Im such an unforgettable character even if I do say so myself. Im just so immense ;).
